1. Most of the scammers do not register their operating businesses with Department of Business Development
(DBD), Ministry of Commerce, Thailand. The DBD is a Thai government agency that is operating in a similar
function as Companies Commission in other countries.
2. Most of the scammers created a fake website without landline telephone numbers. Most of them use mobile
number and communicate via WhatsApp or via personal email (e.g. via Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo),
not company’s email.
3. Most of the scammers always forge official documents (e.g. company registration certificate, health
certificate, certificate of origin (COO) etc.) with fake national emblem of Thailand (Garuda Badge),
government agency name, name of a person who has authorization to issue official documents and so on.
4. Most of the scammers use their first name and last name as their companies’ name so that it looks alike when
the buyer transfers the money to their personal account, especially via telegraphic transfer (TT).
5. Most of the scammers do not want to open a Letter of Credit (LC) by giving a reason that it will be costly to
open an LC. Besides, they always ask for the deposit (i.e. 30%) in advance so that they can start the
production. Mostly, they use personal bank account rather than corporate bank account.
