battery pack assembly in Malaysia

EVE Energy Malaysia Sdn Bhd (EVE), a global leader in lithium battery manufacturing, has officially launched its state-of-the-art facility in Padang Meha, Kedah. This strategic investment strengthens Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for battery technology, energy storage solutions, and electronic manufacturing services.

Powering Southeast Asia and Beyond

The new facility is designed to serve high-growth sectors such as power tools and electric two-wheelers, with distribution planned across Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America. Once fully operational, the plant will employ 2,000 Malaysians, primarily from technical backgrounds—boosting local expertise and job creation in high-tech manufacturing.

Supporting Malaysia’s Energy Transition

In a joint statement with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid praised EVE’s achievement:

“We extend our congratulations on this significant breakthrough. As climate change challenges intensify, energy transition and low-carbon development will be central to future industries. The Malaysian government is proud to partner with EVE Energy Co Ltd to drive sustainable growth and technological innovation.”

Fast-Tracked Development, Global Reach

EVE Energy’s Senior Vice President Vincent Wong highlighted the rapid progress of the facility, which was completed in just 16 months since its groundbreaking in August 2023. The plant is expected to begin operations in Q1 2025, becoming EVE’s first overseas factory to achieve mass production and delivery.

CEO and Co-founder Liu Jianhua emphasized the strategic importance of the Malaysian facility:

“This factory will deepen cooperation between China and Malaysia in the field of new energy. With mature technical reserves and production capabilities, EVE Energy is now better positioned to manufacture globally, deliver globally, and collaborate globally.”

Strategic Partnerships for a Sustainable Future

During the launch ceremony, EVE Energy signed strategic cooperation agreements with Greenworks, Chervon, and JTI, reinforcing its commitment to building strong industry partnerships.
